Missouri Tigers’ 2025 football schedule features a record number of home games

There’s no place like home when it comes to the Missouri Tigers’ football schedule for the 2025 season.

Mizzou’s lineup for next year, as released this week by the Southeastern Conference, features no fewer than eight games at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium — including six straight to open the 2025 campaign.

It’s the first time in the 130-plus-year history of the MU football program that the Tigers will play eight home games at Faurot Field in the same season.

The conference portion of each SEC team’s schedule is what was unveiled Wednesday. MU learned it will welcome league foes South Carolina, Alabama, Texas A&M, and Mississippi State to Columbia next year.

First, though, the Tigers will play host to three nonconference matchups to begin the 2025 season: Aug. 30 against Central Arkansas; Sept. 6 versus Kansas; and Sept. 13 against Louisiana-Lafayette.

Mizzou is scheduled to play its first road game of the season at Auburn on Oct. 18. Auburn finished 5-7 this sesaon.

After visiting the other Tigers, MU will also play road games against Vanderbilt, Oklahoma and Arkansas. Interestingly, Missouri’s four road games are broken into two back-to-backs: at Auburn Oct. 18 and then at Vanderbilt Oct. 25, and at Oklahoma (Nov. 22) and at Arkansas (Nov. 29) to close out the regular season.

Fans will no doubt begin the new year counting down the days until the Tigers’ season opener against Central Arkansas, but excitement should only increase the week after that.

Mizzou has not played the Border War-rival Jayhawks — who went 5-7 this season — since Nov. 26, 2011, a 24-10 MU victory at Arrowhead Stadium. The Tigers departed the Big 12 for the SEC in 2012.
