Mizzou football lands Mississippi State receiver from transfer portal. Here’s the update
Mizzou made its first splash in the transfer portal when it landed receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. on Saturday. On3’s Hayes Fawcett was the first to report the news.
In three collegiate seasons — one each with Jackson State, Louisville and Mississippi State — Coleman Jr. has accumulated 1,804 receiving yards and 11 touchdown catches on 133 receptions. In 2024 with the Bulldogs, the 5-foot-11, 180-pound pass-catcher had the best season of his career, finishing with 932 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
In Mississippi State’s November game against Missouri, Coleman Jr. finished with 58 yards on six catches.
Coleman Jr. was a four-star recruit and the No. 54 player in the Class of 2022 out of St. Mary’s High School in St. Louis. He took a visit to Columbia in June of 2021, but he ultimately signed with Jackson State.
Following a freshman season in which he tallied 510 yards and three touchdowns on 33 catches under coach Deion Sanders, he transferred to Louisville, where he caught 26 passes for just 362 yards and two touchdowns in 2023.
The receiver, who has also returned punts and kickoffs in his career, announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on his X account Wednesday. According to 247Sports’ transfer portal rankings, Coleman Jr. is the No. 21 player and No. 9 receiver in the country.
With the departures of Luther Burden III, Theo Wease Jr. and Mookie Cooper, the Tigers needed an experienced, dependable receiver for the 2025 season. Coleman Jr. will slot into the role for Missouri.
QB Aidan Glover enters transfer portal
True freshman quarterback Aidan Glover on Friday announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal.
Glover did not see any action in the 2024 season, thus redshirting in his freshman campaign. Glover was a three-star recruit out of Collierville, Tennessee, in the Class of 2024. The 247Sports Composite Ranking had him as the No. 644 player and No. 40 quarterback in the class.
As of now, Sam Horn and Drew Pyne are Mizzou’s only scholarship quarterbacks. The Tigers had USC transfer quarterback Miller Moss in town for a visit this week. He is the No. 5 signal-caller in the portal, according to 247Sports.
