Former Mizzou Tigers defensive tackle Antar Thompson enters transfer portal

Former Missouri Tigers defensive tackle Antar Thompson is finishing his final year of eligibility elsewhere, electing to enter the transfer portal. Thompson, who will be a graduate transfer, announced his decision on Twitter.

“It has been a honor to play for the state of Missouri,” Thompson wrote. “I want to thank all the trainers who have helped mold me into the athlete I am today. Also, the relationships built through academics and the classroom, I really appreciate all the help.”

Thompson, 25, had been suspended indefinitely by the team following an April arrest before leaving. Thompson had been arrested for allegedly operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner, along with resisting arrest. He has an August court date stemming from the incident.

A St. Louis native, Thompson enrolled at Mizzou in January 2018 after transferring from Highland Community College. He played in four games each over the past two seasons.

Thompson is the most recent transfer as Mizzou’s roster continues to take shape ahead of the 2020 season. Former MU wide receiver Khmari Thompson (Illinois), wide receiver Kam Scott (Houston), running back Anthony Watkins (Tulsa) and cornerback Christian Holmes (Oklahoma State) found homes elsewhere.
