Missouri Tigers defensive lineman Antar Thompson arrested, suspended indefinitely
Missouri Tigers defensive tackle Antar Thompson was arrested Sunday, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, for allegedly operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner, along with resisting arrest.
A Missouri football spokesperson said the team is aware of the arrest. Thompson, 25, is suspended indefinitely from the team, per department policy.
The arrest stemmed from an incident last Friday. A University of Missouri Police officer attempted to stop Thompson for a traffic violation, where Thompson failed to stop. Thompson had been stopped 10 minutes prior by another officer for speeding.
With the officers knowing the identity of the driver, the pursuit was abandoned. Thompson was then taken into custody without incident on Sunday.
Thompson was then booked at Boone County jail, with bond set at $2,000.
As of Monday afternoon, Thompson was not listed as a detainee at the Boone County jail, according to the jail’s website.
Thompson was entering his redshirt senior season with the Tigers, playing four games each in the past two seasons. The St. Louis native enrolled at MU in January 2018 after transferring from Highland Community College.
