Mizzou football keeps rolling, earning commitment from three-star Texas cornerback

The Missouri Tigers and football coach Eliah Drinkwitz continue to be red-hot on the recruiting trail, adding Texas three-star cornerback Darius Jackson to their class of 2021.

Jackson announced his verbal commitment Saturday via Twitter.

Jackson is ranked as the No. 883 recruit in the country, according to 247Sports. He held offers from Kansas, Kansas State, Washington State and other major programs.

Drinkwitz and his staff landed four-star defensive end Travion Ford of Lutheran North near St. Louis Thursday, and this weekend’s addition of Jackson is a reminder that he still looking elsewhere for fresh talent, too.

Jackson, from Red Oak, Texas, is the eighth commitment of Mizzou’s 2021 class. He joins Ford and defensive end Mekhi Wingo as defensive recruits. The other five pledged prospects are quarterback Tyler Macon, offensive lineman Connor Tollison, running back Taj Butts, tight end Gavin McKay and tight end Ryan Hoerstkamp.
