Kansas football will return to ‘Big Noon Kickoff’ — on an international stage
The Kansas Jayhawks will be back on “Big Noon Kickoff” — this time on an international stage.
It will be the Jayhawks’ second-ever appearance on the FOX program, and it will take place when Kansas faces Arizona State in the inaugural Union Jack Classic live from Wembley Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 19.
FOX announced the news Wednesday during its FIFA World Cup coverage.
“We’re extremely excited to have FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff come to London to preview the Union Jack Classic,” Kansas coach Lance Leipold said in a news release. “Big Noon Kickoff does an outstanding job of showcasing the pregame pageantry of college football.
“Having them at the Union Jack Classic will make for a truly special environment as we take on Arizona State in the first ever college football game in the iconic Wembley Stadium.”
The Jayhawks hosted Fox’s “Big Noon Kickoff” in Lawrence for the first time ever on Oct. 28, 2023, before a 38-33 homecoming victory over No. 6 Oklahoma.
KU’s matchup against Arizona State is the first time college football will be played at Wembley Stadium, located in London.
“FOX Sports prides itself on being the home of big events, so we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to bring Big Noon Kickoff to the historic Wembley Stadium — home to so many iconic moments in sports,” said Jordan Bazant, executive vice president of FOX Sports.
