Former University of Kansas men’s basketball forward Perry Ellis suffered a season-ending ankle injury on April 11 that required surgery to repair, the Japan-based Fukui Blowinds professional basketball team has announced.
Ellis, a 6-foot-8 Wichita native who played at KU from the 2012-13 season through 2015-16 season, was diagnosed with a lateral malleolus fracture outside of his leg near the ankle. He’ll have no weight bearing on his foot for at least six weeks.
“Unfortunately I’ve suffered a season ending injury. Thank you to my family, friends, fans and teammates for all the prayers and support for my surgery and my recovery.
