Former KU point guard Dajuan Harris, a 2022 NCAA champion, signs pro contract
Former Kansas men’s basketball guard Dajuan Harris will begin his pro career with the Kortrijk Spurs, a team located in western Belgium, his agency, Octagon Europe, announced Sunday
The team plays in the BNXT League, made up of teams in Belgium and the Netherlands. The league’s inaugural season was 2021-22.
Harris, a 6-foot-2 guard from Columbia, Missouri, was a starter on KU’s 2021-22 national title team. He most recently played for the Charlotte Hornets in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. He played in just two of the team’s six games for a total of seven minutes. The Hornets won the summer league title.
Harris, an honorable mention all-Big 12 pick the last three years and the league’s defensive player of the year in 2023, is second on KU’s all-time assists list (865). He’s the school’s all-time leader in games played (173) and minutes (5,154). He averaged 9.2 points and 5.7 assists per game last season. He shot 43.9% from the field.
Harris’ signing follows the signing of former KU guard Zeke Mayo with Ironi Kiryat Ata of the Israeli Basketball Premier League.
