KU Jayhawks offensive lineman Bryce Cabeldue signs contract with Seattle Seahawks

Former Kansas football offensive lineman Bryce Cabeldue has signed his first NFL contract, the Seattle Seahawks announced Monday night.

Cabeldue was selected with the No. 192 overall pick in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Seahawks.

According to Overthecap.com, it’s a four-year deal worth $4,432,260 with an annual average of $840,000. The contract has no guaranteed money.

Cabeldue was the second Jayhawk selected in the draft, following teammate Devin Neal, who was picked earlier in the sixth round by the New Orleans Saints.

Cabeldue was a late riser in mock drafts after a stellar showing at the Big 12’s Pro Day.

“I’m not surprised,” KU offensive line coach Daryl Agpalsa said of Cabeldue’s rise. “I’m happy for him, but there was a lot of work that went into it. And like I told all the scouts, somebody is going to get somebody and is going to be really excited about him. I don’t think he’s a secret anymore.”

Cabeldue played left tackle for the Jayhawks last season, starting 12 games and appearing in 48 of 50 total games during his time in Lawrence. Before last season, he played right tackle.

He will transition to guard in the NFL. Cabeldue talked about that transition after the draft.

“It’s a little bit quicker,” he told reporters after the draft. “Guys are in your face a whole lot faster. You have to use a little bit more strength. At tackle, you could be a little bit prettier, you use your legs a little bit more.

“At guard, it’s very, very physical, very in your face at all times, and you have to be extremely aware. Like I said, I think I’m pretty quick off the ball, I’ve been working on my hand placement, all my striking. I’ve always been pretty strong. I think going from tackle to guard is going to suit me really well.”
