Kansas Jayhawks football adds potential replacement kicker for graduating Allen

The Kansas Jayhawks football team has a potential starting kicker for next season.

South Alabama transfer Laith Marjan announced his commitment to the Jayhawks on Sunday morning. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Marjan had a stellar 2024 season. He went 16 of 17 on field goals (94.1%), including a perfect 6-for-6 from 40-49 yards. He also hit 42 of 44 extra points. He was also a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award, given yearly to the top kicker in college football.

Marjan played two seasons with East Carolina before transferring to South Alabama before the start of last season. In his time at East Carolina, Marjan was the placekicker.

The addition of Marjan is significant for KU as starting kicker Tabor Allen has graduated and backup Owen Piepergerdes participated in senior day.

Marjan will likely battle Charlie Weinrich for the starting job next season.
