See progress on KU’s Memorial Stadium. On schedule to seat fans for 2025 home opener

A drone flight over David Booth Memorial Stadium on the University of Kansas campus in Lawrence on Friday revealed the progress of the renovations happening at the stadium.

The Jayhawks will be playing their football game with the University of Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday in what should be their last game at one of their temporary home fields, GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Construction at the football stadium remains on schedule for completion before the start of next season. KU athletic director Travis Goff said earlier this fall that the remodeled facility’s capacity will be “40-thousand something” for the 2025 season opener.

With construction at Memorial Stadium ongoing, the Jayhawks played four “home” football games at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium this season, with two others at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas.
