Kansas Jayhawks vs. Colorado: Prediction, odds, TV for Saturday’s Big 12 football game

The Jayhawks (4-6, 3-4 Big 12) are coming off a big win against BYU. Now they’ll face a red-hot Buffs team that’s currently tied for first place with BYU in the conference standings.

Here’s a closer look at Saturday’s showdown:

Kansas game prediction

What an important game for both sides.

Kansas needs a win to keep alive its hopes of returning to a bowl game, while Colorado is in the mix for the Big 12 championship and a berth in the College Football Playoff.

For the Jayhawks to win, they will probably need to score 30 or more points and not turn over the ball. KU must also slow down the quarterback-receiver duo of Shadeur Sanders and Travis Hunter.

Sanders’ passing prowess poses a massive problem for a shaky KU defense. He has completed 280 of 384 passes (72.9%) for 3,222 yards and 27 touchdowns through eight games (though he’s also thrown seven interceptions).

On top of that, KU must limit two-way phenom Hunter — on both sides of the ball.

Expect a shootout. It’s not out of the question for the Jayhawks’ offense to keep up with the Buffs; I just think KU’s defense will struggle to slow Colorado’s potent attack.

This game may come down to one or two key plays. Unless KU’s defense forces some turnovers, I don’t see the Jayhawks prevailing.

Prediction: Colorado 31, KU 27

Shreyas’ pick to cover: Buff (-2.5)

Shreyas’ record: 5-5

Shreyas’ record against the spread: 4-6.
