Who wins when Kansas football meets Cincinnati this weekend? Game odds & prediction

After a tough loss to in-state rival K-State, Kansas football looks to end its regular season with a win on Saturday.

The Jayhawks (7-4, 4-4 Big 12) will travel to Cincinnati to play the Bearcats (3-8, 1-7) at Nippert Stadium.

Last week, Cincinnati got blown out by West Virginia 42-21.

Let’s break down this weekend’s matchup...

Kansas at Cincinnati game details

Kickoff: 6:30 p.m. Saturday

Where: Nippert Stadium (Cincinnati)

TV: ESPN2

Radio: Jayhawk Radio Network; WHB (810) in Kansas City

Betting line: Kansas is a 7-point favorite.

Prediction

This game should be a walk in the park for the Jayhawks.

The Bearcats are last in the conference, and while they’re more formidable at home, Kansas shouldn’t struggle here.

The key will be for KU’s offense to start strong against a weaker Bearcats defense.

If Kansas’ running back duo of Devin Neal and Daniel Hishaw start off well, then it won’t matter who’s at QB for Kansas, be it Cole Ballard or Jason Bean.

Conversely, KU’s defense needs to force turnovers against the Bearcats. Cincinnati QB Emory Jones has thrown for 10 interceptions with four fumbles so far, so he’s prone to mistakes.

Between KU’s stellar run game and Jones’ tendency to put the ball in jeopardy, I think KU runs away with this one.

Prediction: Kansas 35, Cincinnati 21

Shreyas’ pick to cover: Kansas (-7)

Shreyas’ record: 8-3

Shreyas’ record against the spread: 5-6
