About Kansas (1-0): The Jayhawks have won the last two meetings against Kentucky, with both coming in the Big 12/SEC Challenge. That included a 79-73 victory in Rupp Arena last year. ... Guard Devonté Graham had a career-high 12 assists in KU’s season-opening 92-56 home win against Tennessee State on Friday. Lagerald Vick also tied his career high with 23 points. ... KU is 2-4 overall in the Champions Classic, with both of its wins coming against Duke. The Jayhawks defeated the Blue Devils, 77-75, in last year’s game at Madison Square Garden in New York. ... About Kentucky (2-0): Kentucky was shaky in its first two games at home, winning 73-63 against Utah Valley and 73-69 against Vermont. Because of that, the Wildcats dropped from fifth in the AP poll to seventh this week. ... Kentucky leads the all-time series over KU, 22-8. The two teams are meeting for the fourth straight season. ... Coach John Calipari was previously an assistant at KU from 1982-85. He did not cross paths will Bill Self, though, who was a grad assistant at KU during the 1985-86 season. ...
