Kansas State Wildcats coach Jerome Tang adds new hire to his basketball staff
Jerome Tang has added another new member to the Kansas State men’s basketball coaching staff.
Chase Driscoll, who has spent the past four seasons as an assistant coach with North Florida, is joining the Wildcats as director of video and analytics.
He is the second hire made by Tang this spring, following the addition of new assistant coach Bill Peterson last month.
“I’m fired up to bring Chase Driscoll on board as our new video coordinator,” Tang said in a statement. “His eye for detail, passion for the game and work ethic make him a huge asset to our program. I can’t wait to see the impact he’ll have on our preparation, player development and overall success.”
Tang and Driscoll have known each other for many years.
Driscoll’s father, Matthew, is the head coach at North Florida. But before Matthew Driscoll arrived at the Atlantic Sun school, he worked alongside Tang as an assistant coach at Baylor. They were both original members of Scott Drew’s coaching staff in Waco.
Chase Driscoll is a former North Florida player who went on to join his father on the coaching staff.
“I’m incredibly honored to join the Kansas State men’s basketball program and grateful to Coach Tang for the chance to be a part of his winning culture built on hard work and accountability,” Driscoll said in a statement. “I’m excited for the opportunity to live life with the staff and the people of Manhattan. I am looking forward to helping our team prepare, compete and win at the highest level.”
These new hires will fill a pair of holes on the K-State coaching staff.
The Wildcats lost associate head coach Ulric Maligi to Texas and director of video/analytics Franklin Miskelly to Louisiana-Monroe.
It is unclear if Tang will look to make additional hires this offseason. He could choose to promote one of his current assistants into the role of associate head coach and move forward with his staff as is. Or he could look to make an outside hire to fill that spot and go into the 2025-26 season with one more staffer than in previous years.
