Brendan Mott led a group of 13 Kansas State football players who received all-conference honors from the Big 12 this week.

Mott, a 6-foot-5 and 244-pound senior defensive end from Iowa City, was selected as Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year after he recorded 45 tackles this season, with 8.5 of them ending up as sacks.

He is the sixth K-State football player to win the award. He joins former Wildcats Meshak Williams (2012), Ryan Mueller (2014), Jordan Willis (2016) and Felix Anudike-Uzomah (2021 and 2022).

Mott was also named to the All-Big 12 first team.

Five of his teammates made the All-Big 12 second team. That group includes running back DJ Giddens, tight end Garrett Oakley, linebacker Austin Romaine, left tackle Easton Kilty and center Sam Hecht.

Many more K-State players earned honorable mention from the conference.

That group was led by running back Dylan Edwards. He was joined by Hadley Panzer, Jacob Parrish, VJ Payne, Will Swanson, Tre Spivey, and Chiddi Obiazor
