Kansas State’s first 2023 football recruit will team up with his brother as a Wildcat

The Kansas State football team will sign a few new players to its 2022 recruiting class when the February signing period begins on Wednesday, but that didn’t stop the Wildcats from starting the week with some good news for 2023.

Camden Beebe, a 6-foot-3 and 330-pound offensive lineman from Piper High in Kansas City, announced his plans to play for the Wildcats on Monday evening.

His commitment makes him the first member of K-State’s 2023 recruiting class.

“In today’s recruiting environment it is important to play for a school that wants you to be a part of their family,” Beebe wrote on social media. “With all that being said, I am blessed to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at Kansas State University.”

Family is clearly important to Beebe. His older brother already plays for the Wildcats.

Cooper Beebe has become a star left tackle for K-State over the past two seasons. The junior offensive lineman started every game last season and earned first-team All Big 12 honors at the end of the regular season.

No one was more excited about Camden Beebe committing to the Wildcats than his older brother.

“Can’t be more proud of my (little) bro,” Cooper Beebe wrote on Twitter. “This was his decision and can’t be more happy he chose here. Can’t wait to teach him everything I know. I want him to be better then I am.”

K-State was the first and only school to offer Camden Beebe a scholarship, but he was receiving interest from Iowa State, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.

Rather than waiting to see if any of those other schools would extend an offer, Camden Beebe decided to follow in his brother’s footsteps and commit to the Wildcats.
