Next Play: Chiefs-Cowboys showdown in Kansas City, some Sausage + prep football finals

The Chiefs welcome America’s Team to Arrowhead Stadium this afternoon.

The Sunday game against the Dallas Cowboys could be a classic in the making. The Chiefs are surging, having beaten the Las Vegas Raiders soundly last weekend, and the ‘Boys are too, especially after roughing up the Falcons a week ago.

This weekend’s game marks the first time Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will square off against the team quarterbacked by Dak Prescott. Both teams boast ample star quotient.

Former Chiefs fullback Anthony Sherman always put on a good show when he arrived at the team’s annual training camp in St. Joe,. A few years ago he wore a different type of helmet as an homage to friend and NASCAR driver (not to mention Emporia, Kan. native) Clint Bowyer. Oh, and on that day he drove up in one of Bowyer’s old racecars.

Chiefs vs. Cowboys

Have we mentioned that Sunday’s game sets up as potential instant classic? They’re even going to have former Chiefs fullback Anthony “Sausage” Sherman bang the pre-game drum.

The Chiefs will be looking to win their fourth straight game behind better ball security from all involved, a budding return to dominance by Patrick Mahomes and the KC offense, and defensive play that’s been steadily improving from week to week.

Next weekend, the Chiefs get a breather thanks to their annual bye week. They’re off Sunday, Nov. 28, returning to action at home on Dec. 5 against the Denver Broncos.
