Kansas City Mavericks split a pair of hockey games, have two more coming this week
Here’s what happening with the Kansas City Mavericks minor-league hockey team this week, with a recap of their recent games and who they play next.
Shutout for Redmond
The Mavericks welcomed the Wheeling Nailers to Cable Dahmer Arena last Friday. The Mavericks took down the Nailers 3-0 with goaltender Angus Redmond registering his first shutout of the season.
Forward Lane Scheidl scored two goals and Nick Pastujov one for the Mavs.
Last Wednesday, the Mavericks lost a road game against the Tulsa Oilers. Scheidl scored a goal in that one, too, giving him four goals this season (tied for second in the league). Darik Angeli scored KC’s other goal.
The Mavericks’ ECHL record stands at 2-2.
Boys and Girls Club
The Mavericks’ Dinner on Ice event is coming up in December, and members of the team planned to visit with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City-Independence Unit on Wednesday for some preparation. They’ll be making table runners with the kids.

On Saturday, the Mavericks play host to the Allen Americans (1-1-2) for “Mavs Country: Johnson County Night.” Visit https://www.kcmavericks.com/johnson-county-night for tickets.
