What do the primary results in Kansas and Missouri tell us about the November election?

Who won? Who lost? Why? What’s next?

On the heels of Kansas and Missouri’s primary elections, those are some of the questions pondered by a panel of political experts on “4Star Politics,” the joint digital program produced by FOX4 and The Star.

University of Kansas Professor Emeritus Burdett Loomis and Colleen McCain Nelson, vice president and editorial page editor of The Star, join FOX4’s John Holt and Dave Helling of The Star Editorial Board to look at the surprising outcome in the Kansas Republican Senate primary — where U.S. Rep. Roger Marshall coasted to a lopsided victory over Kris Kobach and nine other contenders.

The panel also discussed the results in the Kansas 3rd Congressional District House primary, where Amanda Adkins prevailed. She will face freshman U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids in November.

Medicaid was expanded in Missouri — what does that mean for the governor’s race in that state? And how does President Donald Trump figure into all of this?

Those topics and more are part of the discussion among the four veteran political observers on this week’s “4Star Politics.”
