Ready for a warm-up, Kansas City? Here’s how high temperatures could climb

Pack away the parka and say goodbye to winter’s chill — at least temporarily. Kansas City will get a break with much warmer weather, according to the National Weather Service.

“Warmer temperatures this week. Near normal Monday through Wednesday, then above normal” for the latter half of the week, the weather service said in its forecast discussion.

Temperatures are expected to reach 44 degrees on Monday, 37 on Tuesday, and 39 on Wednesday. Much warmer weather is expected late in the week, with temperatures climbing to around 50 degrees or slightly higher on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Forecasters say there is some uncertainty about exactly how warm it will get. Kansas City temperatures may reach near 60 degrees early next week, but the exact numbers are still in question.

Kansas City’s typical early February temperatures are around 40 degrees during the day and in the low 20s overnight.

Dry weather is also very likely, greater than 85%, for the next seven days, with only minor exceptions, the weather service said. There is a small chance of light snow flurries in northern Missouri.
