Wyandotte High School has canceled classes Monday after a small fire in a stairwell over the weekend, school officials announced on Sunday.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools posted the announcement Sunday night on X, formerly Twitter.

The announcement affects Wyandotte High School students only. The school district said it would share further information with families as it becomes available.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage was not included in the announcement.
