Sunny skies Friday before weekend rain in Kansas City. Will storms return?
Friday will be a pleasant and sunny day with high temperatures near seasonal norms in the low 80s. But chances of rain will return over the weekend and a few storms can’t be ruled out, according to the National Weather Service in Kansas City.
Friday, the high temperature is expected to be near 82 degrees, according to the forecast. Then throughout the evening, cloud cover is expected to increase and bring an overnight low down near 64 degrees.
Foggy conditions had an impact on the early morning commute Friday, but most of the fog dissipated by around 9 a.m., meteorologists said on social media.
Chances for showers and storms return late Friday into early Saturday morning, meteorologists predict. Chances of rain Saturday are around 40%, and rain is most likely before 1 p.m. While a thunderstorm is possible, severe weather is not expected, the forecast shows.
Saturday, cloud cover will keep the high temperature near 77 degrees, the forecast shows. Another round of showers and thunderstorms are possible overnight Saturday into Sunday morning. The overnight low Saturday is expected to be near 65 degrees.
Precipitation is most likely south of Interstate 70 over the weekend, meteorologists said in a Friday forecast discussion.
Sunday, rain is likely for both the morning and afternoon, according to the weather service. Rain chances increase to 60% Sunday, when the high temperature is expected to be near 79 degrees, the forecast shows.
