Severe thunderstorms could hit the Kansas City metro starting Saturday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Meteorologists said the most likely chance for thunderstorms the next few days will come between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday. In some pockets, winds could reach up to 60 mph with a chance for quarter-sized hail.

Weather Thursday should stay dry for most of the day in the metro area, with highs in the mid-80s. There is a chance of showers around midnight.

On Friday night, there’s a chance of rain lasting into Saturday morning.
