Driving to Kansas City International Airport? Lane closure could affect traffic Thursday
Traffic jams could be a factor for those visiting Kansas City International Airport on Thursday as “urgent” road surface repairs are planned for the exit ramp overpass from Interstate 29, officials said Wednesday.
Roadway workers will be repairing the bridge deck on the northbound exit at 120th Street, according to a news release from the Missouri Department of Transportation. The overpass is expected to be down to one lane between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday.
Motorists are asked to be cautious while driving through the work zone. The schedule will depend on the weather, a spokesperson from the transportation department said.
Drivers should prepare for delays getting to the airport, Joe McBride, an airport spokesman, said in a statement Wednesday. He added that commuters may consider using the Mexico City Avenue exit as an alternative.
