Scattered thunderstorms could hit the Kansas City metro Tuesday and continue throughout the week, according to the National Weather Service.

A group of storms moving east across Kansas could hit the southern portion of the metro in the late morning.

There’s also the possibility for additional storms later Tuesday afternoon and evening. Stronger winds are also expected up to about 30 mph throughout the day.

Temperatures remain mild Tuesday with a low of 65 degrees and a high of 87 degrees.

The chance for periodic storms continues Thursday and Friday. Over the weekend, meteorologists are tracking the possibility for more severe thunderstorms.

Gusty winds will also continue throughout the week. On Thursday, winds could reach 20 mph and up to 30 mph on Friday.
