Winter storm to bring snow, sleet and bitter cold to Kansas City on New Year’s Eve
Kansas City’s weather forecast for New Year’s Eve calls for a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing drizzle, according to the National Weather Service.
A winter storm is expected to bring snow starting late Friday night or early Saturday morning, accompanied by bitter cold and hazardous road conditions.
In Kansas City, the snowfall forecasts call for 2-3 inches of snow. The high temperature Friday is expected to reach 57 degrees, with a low of 20 degrees overnight.
The highest snow amounts are expected in northern Missouri, where totals could reach 6-8 inches. The highest sleet accumulations are expected along the Interstate 70 corridor.
