Windy Wednesday to precede chilly end to workweek in Kansas City
While Wednesday’s temperatures will be mild, the forecast will be windy in Kansas City, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.
Wind gusts of 20 to 30 miles per hour are possible across the metro as the temperature warms up into the mid-70s, said Lauria, who provides weather updates to The Star.
Colder air will likely move into the region Wednesday evening, bringing chillier temperatures through the end of the week with highs in the low 60s on both Thursday and Friday, he said.
“Friday morning in particular could be kind of frosty,” Lauria said. “If you’re a gardener, might need to cover up the plants for this one as temperatures drop down into the 30s.”
Friday will be pleasant overall.
“But as we kick off the weekend I’m concerned that we may see some rain developing in the area as warmer air tries to fight its way into the area,” Lauria said. “As it does so, that’s a good signal for rain, and if we do get the rain on Saturday, it could turn into a kind of a chilly, raw day.”
While Saturday may be unpleasant, Sunday should be much nicer with sunshine and highs back in the low 60s.
“Right now, Chiefs Sunday looks pretty good,” Lauria added. “And then temperatures next week will start to rebound. Should have some great fall weather over the next several weeks.”
