Seesawing temperatures expected in Kansas City; rain chances return by weekend
The rest of the work week will be rather quiet weather wise in the Kansas City area as the next best chance for rain doesn’t return to the metro until the weekend, said FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
“It’s going to be 70 degrees or near 70 later on today with lots of sunshine early on, a few clouds and not a lot of humidity,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.
The forecast is calling for up-and-down temperatures, but “no big issues weather wise” for the rest of the workweek, she said.
Highs will be all over the place, she said, from the 70s on Tuesday and Wednesday to the 60s on Thursday and 50s on Friday.
Overnight lows are expected to be in the upper 30s and 40s this week. Some areas might see patches of frost later this week.
“We will stay dry,” Ritter said. “Rain chances do return Saturday into Sunday. You’ll notice that rain should mainly be wrapped up by early Sunday morning.
“There may be a few pockets of drizzle and certainly some lingering clouds on Sunday but the bulk of the rain will happen on the first half of the weekend and mainly during the afternoon on Saturday.”
The National Weather Service in Kansas City said the average high for this time of year in Kansas City is 73 degrees, with the average overnight low of 52 degrees.
