‘Pockets of light rain’ possible for some in Kansas City area as fall 2020 rolls in
Clouds will be building into the Kansas City area as highs climb into the 70s Tuesday for the first day of fall, said FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
“As these clouds increase, there’s rain showing up on the south side of Kansas and Missouri this morning,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.
“Some of our computer models are trying to throw a few little pockets of light rain later today, mainly on the south side of our viewing area.”
Overnight Tuesday, the forecast is calling for additional pockets of rain to develop in other areas of the metro, she said.
“For the most part, the dry stretch continues as we kick off our fall season today,” Ritter said. “But it’s not going to feel like it going into the weekend with highs climbing into the 80s before a strong cold front arrives Saturday night into Sunday.”
That will bring temperatures back down into the 70s on Sunday, she said.
The National Weather Service in Kansas City said that nice early fall weather is expected for the next several days.
There’s a chance for showers and thunderstorms this weekend, but severe weather is not expected at this time, the weather service said.
