Two days of rain in forecast, temps to stay below 90 heading into Labor Day weekend

Sunday’s sunshine will soon make way for two days of rain, according to FOX4 meteorologist Alex Countee.

“This afternoon we’re going to see a good mix of sunshine, maybe a few clouds here and there, and it’s very comfortable by 4 o’clock this afternoon,” said Countee, who provides weather updates to The Star.

The high temperature Sunday will be around 82 degrees.

“Hopefully you can get outside and enjoy because it’s going to be kind of wet and cloudy Monday and Tuesday, especially during the morning hours both of these days,” Countee said.

It likely won’t warm up beyond the low 80s Monday and Tuesday. More widespread rain is expected Tuesday, with a high of 78.

As the ground begins to dry out again Wednesday and Thursday, the temperature will also start to creep up into the mid-to-high 80s again, Countee said.

But the temperature will likely dip down several degrees again as the holiday weekend kicks off. Rain isn’t expected for at least the first part of Labor Day weekend.

“You can see over the next seven days, as a whole, no 90s to talk about,” Countee said. “We’re staying a little bit cooler than normal and that will continue as we go from August into September over the next few days.”
