KC forecast looks like typical August weather. Next chance of rain could be Sunday

Kansas City temperatures on Friday are just above average for this time of year, according to FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.

Friday afternoon, temperatures should climb into the upper 80s, said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.

“Very typical August weather is on tap for your Friday,” Ritter said.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will rise gradually over the weekend.

The next chance for rain — about a 20% chance — should come Sunday morning, especially in areas north of Kansas City.

Next week, afternoon highs should be in the 90s. After Sunday, Ritter said, “it looks like a relatively dry stretch all the way through early next week.”

By the end of the week, some extra cloud cover could move in.

“We’ll also be watching the remnants of the tropics. that may be our next chance for rain towards the end of next week,” Ritter said.
