Sunscreen needed as nearly fall-like conditions settle in across Kansas City metro
Kansas City will get a break this week from the heat and humidity that is typical of mid-August in the metro area, said FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
“Later on today, we have a beautiful forecast,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star. “We have mid-80s expected. Humidity won’t be terribly high. And we’ll have a nice breeze out of the north as a cold front works its way to the south.”
People enjoying the nice weather should get their sunscreen handy, she said.
After the front clears the area, it’ll feel comfortable overnight Monday, Ritter said.
“As we go through the rest of the week, we’re going to have a lot of activity around our viewing area,” she said. “A few passing clouds here and very nice, almost fall-like conditions as we have highs below average in mid- to low 80s and morning lows more than once will be in the 50s.”
The average high for this time of year in Kansas City is 88 degrees. The average low is 67 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Kansas City.
