Watch for scattered showers early Wednesday in KC; rain chances stick around Thursday
Kansas City should watch for possible scattered thunderstorms developing early Wednesday morning, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.
The storms could develop some time after 1 or 2 a.m. Wednesday, said Lauria, who provides weather updates to The Star.
“There might be just a few scattered thunderstorms that try to develop before daybreak,” Lauria said. “It probably won’t be a big, big deal but I just want you to be aware that the chance is there.”
Lauria said the activity should be moving away toward daybreak Wednesday morning.
“Not really expecting severe weather this week but at least the rain chances will continue to be with us for a few days,” Lauria said.
Wednesday should be a “typical summertime day,” Lauria said, as highs reach the middle to upper 80s. Lots of humidity will be in the air Wednesday and Thursday, Lauria said.
According to the National Weather Service, this August ranks as the 12th coolest through the first 10 days. And despite near-normal temperatures this week, below-average temperatures return next week, according to the weather service.
