‘Perfect day’: Tuesday in KC to see high of 76, but hot temps will make a comeback

Kansas City will see a “perfect day out there” Tuesday with a high of 76, but summer will return by the end of the week, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.

The temperature drops to a low of 53 Tuesday morning.

“We’re keeping an eye on the potential of tying a record low tomorrow,” said Lauria, who provided a weather update to The Star. “The record low is 52 set back in ‘74 and just a couple years ago, back in 2017. We’re going to be very, very close to that.”

Tuesday will be less breezy than Monday, with highs in the mid to upper 70s.

The cool mornings continue Wednesday.

“We may tie a record on Wednesday morning, down to 55,” Lauria said. “I think that record of 55 on Thursday morning is pretty safe right now because we’re going to start to see a return of warmer weather.”

Highs will climb into the 80s on Wednesday and Thursday.

Thursday night and Friday morning bring the next chance for showers and thunderstorms.

“By Friday afternoon, the rain will move away and the warmer, muggier air comes into the picture and that sets the stage for a hotter weekend as we return to summer,” Lauria said.

“The weekend looks hot with temperatures in the lower 90s, maybe a couple of isolated storms.”
