After a rainy week in Kansas City, cooler than average temperatures follow
The rain in the Kansas City metropolitan area will pull away by Friday afternoon, according to FOX4 meteorologist Michelle Bogowith.
Yet flooding is still a concern in some areas, said Bogowith, who provides weather updates to The Star.
“So if you do encounter a flooded roadway, please turn around and don’t drown,” Bogowith said.
According to the National Weather Service, areas south and east of the metro were most at risk for flooding. A flash flood warning was in effect for Henry County until 10:45 a.m.
Friday temperatures could reach about 80 degrees “at best,” Bogowith said.
Most of the area will remain dry on Friday, though there are still chances for a “few little spotty pop-ups” of rain, she said.
On Saturday, Bogowith said, temperatures will stick around below average in the lower 80s but the sunshine will return.
On Sunday, the area will see “some chances for a few rain showers to bubble up. Not everyone will see the rain though,” Bogowith said.
After the weekend, Kansas Citians will wake up to temperatures in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs on Monday and Tuesday reach into the upper 70s.
