‘Very tropical’ as heat and high humidity return to the Kansas City metro area
It’ll feel very tropical for the remainder of the week as heat and high humidity return to the Kansas City metro area, said FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
“Later on today (Wednesday) we are going to feel the heat rising,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.
The metro will get a break from the rains that fell the past two days across the metro area, she said. Temperatures will reach around 88 degrees, which is the average high for this time of year in Kansas City.
The Kansas City area was treated with “a stunner of a sunrise” Wednesday morning, Ritter said on Twitter. But not everyone saw the sun as some were socked in with patches of dense fog.
“As we settle into the afternoon, it’s going to be really humid and the humidity is only going to climb as we head towards the weekend,” Ritter said. “It’s going to feel downright soupy outside and very tropical today, tomorrow, Friday, Saturday.”
There could be a few pop up storms Wednesday and Thursday, but the rest of the forecast for the area is “just all about the heat,” she said.
Highs are expected to reach into the 90s starting Friday and continue into early next week, Ritter said.
