KCK teenager shot while driving on Sunday died one day later, police say

A Kansas City, Kansas, teenager died on Monday after he was shot while driving Sunday evening, police said.

He was identified as 16-year-old Armando Villa-Rosales, according to the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

Villa-Rosales was traveling west on Kansas Avenue in his car when gunfire from another vehicle heading east struck him.

The suspect’s vehicle fled the scene, according to KCKPD. It’s not known who was in that vehicle.

Police found Villa-Rosales inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound in the 1400 block of Kansas Avenue just after 7:30 p.m.

He was taken to a hospital, but died of his injuries the next day.

A minor passenger in his vehicle was not injured.

The Criminal Investigation Division is investigating. Anyone with information should call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
