Kansas City could see scattered showers before temperatures rise to end the week

The Kansas City metropolitan area could see “widely scattered” showers Wednesday into Thursday, according to FOX4 meteorologist Garry Frank.

According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday’s forecast shows a slight chance of thunderstorms after about 4 p.m. despite being mostly sunny earlier in the day.

“For the most part, we’re going to stay pretty dry the next few days especially heading into the weekend,” said Frank, who provides weather updates to The Star.

Frank said the heat returns this weekend as temperatures move back into the 90s by Friday. Sunday, he said, will match the “warmest day of the year so far.”

Then, by Monday, the next chance of rain will drive Kansas City back into the 80s, Frank said.
