Rain returning to Kansas City Tuesday morning could cause flooding concerns

The Kansas City area got more than 1.75 inches of rain Monday and more is on the way, according to FOX4 meteorologist Garry Frank.

“We finally got some beneficial rainfall,” Frank said in a weather update for The Star.

With 1.77 inches recorded at Kansas City International Airport, the city is above normal for the month and 0.74 inches above normal for the year.

“I think that trend is going to continue for the short term,” Frank said.

Heavy rain is possible Tuesday morning and could cause concern for flooding.

The rain should turn light to moderate by noon.

On Wednesday, the highs return to the upper 80s.

“Then it gets hot and dry,” Frank said.
