‘Take it easy.’ Kansas City under excessive heat advisory Friday through the weekend
An excessive heat warning will be in effect starting Friday and lasting through the weekend in parts of the Kansas City metro area, according to FOX4 meteorologist Garry Frank.
While highs for the weekend could reach 93 degrees Friday, 98 degrees Saturday and 96 degrees Sunday, it will feel like anywhere between 105 and 110 degrees because of the heat and humidity. Also, overnight lows aren’t expected to drop below 80 degrees in some cases, Frank said in a weather report for The Star. The heat advisory will last from noon Friday to 9 p.m. Sunday.
“Take it easy,” Frank said, “and take a few breaks in the shade. Hydrate.”
It is expected to cool down slightly next week, with forecast highs reaching 91 degrees on Monday, 90 degrees on Tuesday, 91 degrees Wednesday and 93 degrees Thursday. There is also a 30% chance of rain and thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday, according to the forecast.
