Sunny, humid Sunday kicks off another hot week in Kansas City

The start to the new week will be sunny, humid and warm in the Kansas City metro, with the chance of rain returning mid-week and highs near 100 following later.

Sunday’s high will be slightly cooler than days past, peaking in the high 80s with a slight breeze and plenty of sunshine, according to the National Weather Service.

The overnight low will be about 70.

Monday will be much of the same, with a high near 91, according to the weather service.

A slight chance for thunderstorms returns Tuesday morning and extends into the evening. The weather will be cloudy and slight warmer, with a high near 94.

The metro area could see more rain Wednesday morning, with the high again hovering around 90 degrees.

Thursday will continue to be cloudy and hot, with a high near 93.

The weather going into next weekend is expected to be hot as the clouds part and the high temperatures reach near triple digits.
