‘Hot and humid’ forecast in Kansas City on Tuesday. Storms move in later this week

Kansas City will be “hot and humid” on Tuesday as temperatures climb into the lower 90s, but later this week rain will cool off the metro area slightly, according to Fox 4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.

Some isolated storms could pop up on Tuesday, said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.

“But most of us will miss out on the rain,” Ritter said. “Like yesterday, it will be very isolated in nature.”

Temperatures on Tuesday could reach 94 degrees, according to the National Weather Service, and 95 on Wednesday with a heat index between 98 and 102 degrees.

Wednesday will start out dry, Ritter said.

“But during the afternoon and evening we’ll start watching the evolution of our next storm system that’s going to impact our Thursday,” Ritter said.

Storms should stick around on Friday and Saturday as well, which, Ritter said, should help bring the temperatures closer to the 80s.
