Temperatures in the 80s heading into July Fourth weekend, with slight chances of rain
Temperatures Friday in the Kansas City area are expected to be in the 80s, with humid, muggy conditions and a chance for some rain or thunderstorm activity later in the day, according to FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
By noon, the temperature in Kansas City may reach 83. By 4 p.m., it may rise to 87 as the metro sees an increased chance of rain, according to Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.
On a humidity scale ranging from “pleasant” to “brutal,” Friday was expected to remain in the “gross” category.
The high temperature Saturday is expected to reach 88 degrees before temperatures rise to the 90s next week.
“While we do have some coverage of rain on radar expected, it’s not going to wash out your Fourth of July plans,” Ritter said.
“We’ll be in the upper 80s again tomorrow and then we’ll settle into a dry, hot stretch with a lot of 90s heading our way for next week.”
