High temperatures, low rain chance expected for Fourth of July weekend in KC

Kansas City residents can expect a hot start to their Fourth of July weekend with little chance for rain, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.

Temperatures on Friday will reach 89 degrees and highs for the extended forecast remain in the upper 80s and mid-90s through next Thursday, according to Lauria, who provided a weather update to The Star.

Lauria said there’s some chance for an isolated storm toward the Kansas side of the city, but rain is unlikely over the holiday weekend.

“Looks like the better chances of thunderstorms will stay off to our west and off to our east,” Lauria said, “so really most of the holiday weekend should be just fine.”

The high temperature is expected to reach 89 on Saturday, 90 on Sunday, 91 on Monday and Tuesday, 92 on Wednesday and 94 on Thursday.
