Scattered rain possible Monday in Kansas City as temperatures drop below average
Some spotted rain in the forecast Monday comes with cooler temperatures for the Kansas City metro, said Fox 4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
“Later on today we’re going to be talking about temps topping out in the lower 80s, which is actually, for a change, a little bit below average from where we should be for this time of the year,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.
Some light rain is possible in the morning, followed by a chance for some scattered storms in the afternoon.
“But the overall weather as a nuisance will only impact some of you,” Ritter said. “So there will be a lot of dry time, a lot of spots that unfortunately don’t pick up rain, but some will.”
Once the afternoon clouds dry up, she said, the rest of the evening into Tuesday will be “lovely.”
Temperatures will be in the lower 60s Tuesday morning with a daytime high in the lower 80s.
“We’ll be even cooler Wednesday morning, and then we get more unsettled with a better chance for off and on rain for the rest of the week,” Ritter said.

The slight chance for rain returns Wednesday with a low near 60 and a high in the mid-80s.
A similar, but slightly warmer forecast is predicted for Thursday with the small chance of rain and highs in the upper 80s continuing through Sunday.
