Humidity will be high in the KC area over the weekend. This is when storms are expected
Rain is possible throughout the weekend as the Kansas City area is met with hot, humid weather for the first official days of summer.
The best chances for rain will come Saturday afternoon and Sunday night into Monday morning, said FOX4 meteorologist Garry Frank in a weather update for The Star.
On Saturday, Frank said, “we’re not going to see widespread chance for rain but there will be opportunities.”
Frank expects temperatures to stay in 80s on Saturday with a possibility for storms between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
The most humid day of the weekend, Frank said, will likely be Sunday when temperatures are supposed to peak near 90 degrees.
Sunday night and Monday, he said, bring the week’s highest possibility for severe weather.
He doesn’t expect temperatures to rise above the mid 80s the rest of the week.
