Hot temperatures to stick around in KC, but some relief is on the way this weekend
Kansas City’s hot temperatures will stick around Wednesday and Thursday, but some relief will arrive over the weekend, said FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.
Wednesday’s high is 91 while Thursday’s is 92.
“Then as we head towards Friday, we’re going to start to see more clouds move in, maybe even Thursday night,” said Lauria, who provided a weather update to The Star. “And that’s going to keep our temperatures from really warming up I think on Friday, so it should be less hot Friday afternoon and there may be some showers and thunderstorms.”
Clouds and some cooler temperatures will continue this weekend along with the best chance for rain.
Models show anywhere from 0.8 inches to 1.6 inches is possible on Saturday, Lauria said.
“That could be a good soaking rain,” he said. “We’ll need it, it’s really starting to dry out out there.”
The temperature is expected to warm back up Monday and Tuesday of next week.
