High temps and possible showers Tuesday. Chance of rain rises ahead of Father’s Day
Temperatures are likely to cool off slightly as the chances of rain increase later this week, but Father’s Day weekend won’t be a “wash out,” FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter said.
On Tuesday, temperatures will rise up to 91 degrees thanks to the combination of heat and “a little bit of humidity,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.
Storms could pop up close to the Kansas and Missouri state line beginning after 1 p.m., Ritter said. However, Ritter said those storms are “very hit or miss all the way through 6 or 7 p.m.” The few storms that could develop shouldn’t be severe, according to the National Weather Service.
After 7 or 8 p.m., Ritter said, the storms will start to fizzle out.
“We’re left with partly cloudy skies all the way through the day tomorrow and tomorrow looks like a dry forecast,” Ritter said.
But after Wednesday, the chances or rain will increase throughout the rest of the week.
Temperatures will also be slightly cooler towards the end of the week due to increased clouds and showers.
“But I want to stress, Father’s Day weekend will not be a wash out,” Ritter said.
