Hot, humid weather forecast in Kansas City, with little chance of rain until weekend

The weather forecast for this week in Kansas City is hot and humid, with little chance of rain, according to FOX4 meteorologist Garry Frank.

Temperatures most days this week will reach the 90s, with only slim chances of rain showers on a few days, said Frank, who provides weather updates to The Star.

Labeling the humidity on a scale from “Comfy” to “Humid,” “Muggy” and “Sultry,” Frank put Sunday, Monday and Tuesday all in the “Humid” category.

“Normally if we’re talking about the humidity and that’s it, it’s really humid,” Frank said. “But this is really all there is to talk about when it’s this hot, just because a little bit of humidity will make a difference.”

Temperatures are expected to reach 90 Sunday, and 91 on Tuesday. The heat peaks Wednesday and Thursday with a high of 94, and a chance of rain Thursday. Heading into the weekend, temperatures fall a little, with highs of 88 on Friday and 89 on Saturday, with more chances of rain.

So far, Kansas City has seen less than an inch of rain, Frank said. That’s after a June 2019 that brought almost 8 inches.

“Food for thought, as we get throughout the third week of June and we hardly see any rain,” Frank said.

“Better chances next weekend, as we cool down just a little bit.”
